Omnichannel Retail in the Republic of Tatarstan: How to Connect Offline and Online

Omnichannel is a unified customer experience: seeing outdoor advertising, clicking on a story, visiting the store, receiving a personalized discount—and the system connects it all into a single chain. Below is a compact, practical guide for local retail in Tajikistan: a touchpoint map, ready-made OOH and digital scenarios, how to integrate data (UTM, call tracking, CRM), and what metrics to consider.

Customer touchpoint map

  1. Top of the Funnel (Awareness): outdoor (billboards/city formats), radio, YouTube/Shorts, Reels/TikTok.
  2.  Middle (Consideration): Website/landing pages, catalog on social networks, reviews, comparisons, chat/messenger.
  3. Bottom (Action/Repeat): Offline cash register, promo codes, loyalty cards, mailings, retargeting.

The main principle: each contact has one further clear point (QR –> promotion page; video –> offer + store map; call –> tracking and registration in CRM).

Workflows for local retail

1) Outdoor + Instagram/Reels

  • On the surface - QR code with the short UTM link and promo code "CITY10".
  • Reels has the same visuals and offer, but with «social proof» (reviews, unpacking).
  • On the boarding pass: store map, promotion terms, «save to Wallet/Google Pay».

Why it works: Outdoor advertising provides mass coverage, Reels "warms up" and provides repeat touches for the same creatives.

2) Radio + YouTube In-Stream

  • The radio starts frequency (15–25 views/week), video with a simple offer.
  • In parallel YouTube In-Stream 15-30 s with the same message; hook in the first 2-3 seconds.

Chip: Use the same anchor phrase and closing tagline - it's easier for the brain to connect the dots.

3) In-store flyers/checkpoints + retargeting

  • At the cashier's counter there is a leaflet with a QR code for the "loyalty club" and a gift for subscribing.
  • In advertising accounts - retargeting for those who visited the club page and Not completed registration.

Target: convert "casual" buyers into subscribers (it's cheaper to return them than to attract them again).

4) Geo-environment + store map

  • Short wave geo-advertising around points (1–3 km), «pick up today» format.
  • Landing - the page of the nearest store with availability and opening hours.

How to connect data: UTM, call tracking, CRM

UTM - painless marking

Do it single template:
?utm_source=ooh&utm_medium=qr&utm_campaign=sept_sale&utm_content=board_12

  • source — source (ooh, radio, reels, instore)
  • medium — format (qr, audio, video, print)
  • campaign — promotion/period
  • content — specific media/creative

Shorten the link (short domain/QR) so that it can actually be scanned.

Dynamic call tracking (DNI)

  • On the website, the number is changed depending on the channel/campaign.
  • The report includes: calls, duration, qualification (accepted/missed), and association with UTM tags.

Gluing with CRM and cash register

  • For every visit/order - client_id (cookies/GA4) or loyalty card number.
  • Import offline conversions (purchases at the checkout) back to advertising accounts - this way the algorithms will learn from real sales.

Success Metrics (Not Just Clicks)

  1. Reach and Contact: impressions/Reach (by channels), frequency by the core audience.
  2. Intermediate: CTR, video engagement (VTR/views), QR scans, club subscriptions.
  3. Sales: store visits, share of receipts with a promo code, ROPO (online research - offline purchase), share of repeat visits.
  4. Incrementality: Geo-experiments "test areas vs. control", uplift in visits/receipts.

Mini dashboard:

  1. Channel –> coverage/frequency/CPM.
  2. Landing –> CVR/speed/scroll.
  3. Offline –> visits/receipts/average receipt/promo code share.
  4. Total –> CAC and margin contribution.

Example of UTM and call tracking (how to format it in a brief)

  • OOH –> QR: …/sept?utm_source=ooh&utm_medium=qr&utm_campaign=sept&utm_content=board_07
  • Radio –> telephone: (992) XXX-XX-XX (DNI tag utm_source=radio&utm_medium=audio)
  • Reels –> link: …/sept?utm_source=instagram&utm_medium=reels&utm_campaign=sept&utm_content=hook_a

Check once a week: drops in scans/calls are a signal to change the creative or rotation.

Common mistakes and how to avoid them

  1. Various messages in channels. There must be one anchor offer.
  2. QR leads to the main page. Needed special landing under promotion/store.
  3. No frequency. Seen once, forgotten. Keep F ≥ 2–3 per wavelength.
  4. Zero connection with CRM. Without receipts/loyalty cards, you won't know what was actually sold.
  5. «"We measure everything in clicks.". Offline sales are not visible without import and promo codes.

4-week quick plan

  • Week 1: Offer and layouts; UTM scheme; promotion pages; launch of geo-advertising.
  • Week 2: outdoor + Reels/TikTok, radio commercial, DNI launch; hook test (A/B).
  • Week 3: Retargeting landing page visitors; promo codes at the checkout; first summary.
  • Week 4: geo-experiment (2-3 districts), rotation adjustment, report with hypotheses for the month.
